Aggiornamento dal “tetto del mondo”
Dopo la salita di giovedì scorso a Campo 1 (5.715 m), dove ha trascorso due notti per mantenere l’acclimatazione, Jost Kobusch è sceso a 5.129 metri.
Lo scalatore tedesco, che ha trovato venti fortissimi in quota, ha raccontato brevemente l’esperienza di quei giorni:
“Per precauzione, ho assicurato la tenda con una corda da arrampicata. Lasciatemelo dire, anche se il Campo 1 è abbastanza protetto dal vento, è stata bufera. Il video non rende l’idea… Soprattutto durante la notte, le raffiche di vento si sono schiantate contro la mia tenda! Mi chiedevo se i pali potessero resistere a quella forza. Credo che la corda da arrampicata abbia sicuramente dato il suo contributo.”

Giovedì, prima della partenza da Lobuche, Kobusch aveva postato un video della via fino a Campo 1, così commentando :
“Ho pensato a lungo se era opportuno salire di nuovo. Mi sono chiesto: “Jost, stai davvero facendo di tutto per massimizzare le possibilità di successo? Per arrivare il più in alto possibile? “. E la risposta è stata: “No, posso fare di più! “. Anche se è prevista una tempesta di neve, il Campo 1 lassù è molto ben riparato! Pertanto, dovrebbe essere sicuro stare lassù. E poi, sto lentamente perdendo l’acclimatazione guadagnata dalle salite in alta quota, perché il vento è estremamente forte quest’anno e lascia solo piccole finestre meteorologiche per le ascensioni. Quindi il mio acclimatamento trarrà sicuramente beneficio dalla salita a Campo 1 ora, rimanendoci un po’ di tempo. A proposito, il video che vedete qui è l’apertura della via quando l’ho salita per la prima volta a fine dicembre 2021. ”

Gerade gehts wieder hoch ins Camp eins!🧗🏼 Ja, ich habe lange hin und her überlegt, ob ich wieder aufsteigen soll. 🤔Habe mich gefragt: „Jost, tust du eigentlich alles, um die Erfolgschancen zu maximieren? Um möglichst hochzukommen?“. Und die Antwort war: „Nein, ich kann noch mehr tun!“.💪🏼 Es ist zwar ein Schneesturm vorausgesagt, mein Camp eins dort oben ist allerdings sehr geschützt! Dementsprechend sollte es sicher sein dort oben zu bleiben.🙏🏼 Außerdem verliere ich langsam die Akklimatisation, die mir die Höhenaufstiege bringen. Einfach weil der Wind dieses Jahr extrem stark ist und nur kleine Wetterfenster zum Aufstieg lässt.😬 Meine Akklimatisation wird daher definitiv davon profitiert jetzt ins Camp eins zu steigen und dort etwas Zeit zu verbringen. Das Video, das ihr hier seht, ist übrigens die Eröffnung der Route, als ich Ende Dezember 2021 das erste Mal aufgestiegen bin.😊

Therefore, it should be safe to stay up there. 🙏🏼Besides, I’m slowly losing the acclimatisation gained from the high altitude climbs. Just because the wind is extremely strong this year and only leaves small weather windows for ascents.😬 So my acclimatisation will definitely benefit from heading up to camp one now and spending some time there. By the way, the video you see here is the opening of the route when I first climbed it at the end of December 2021.😊
